Please be advised that there will be hydrant testing Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8 in the vicinity of Barker Road, Melbourne Road, Lebanon Avenue, Hungerford Street, Fort Hill Avenue, and West Street. Testing is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday.
This work is being conducted to check water pressure and determine any potential needs for distribution piping in preparation for the construction of a new water tank to be located near Pittsfield Municipal Airport.
Hydrant testing, similar to flushing, may cause localized discolored water and reduced service pressure conditions in and around the immediate area of flushing. If residents experience discolored water, they are advised to let the water run for a short period to clear it prior to use.
If discolored water or low pressure conditions persist, please contact the Water Department at 499-9339.
