The City of Pittsfield’s annual Memorial Day Procession will begin at 9 a.m. Monday, May 27.
For those participating, lineup will take place 8:30-8:45 a.m. on Fenn, Pearl and Allen streets and will leave from City Hall on Fenn Street at 9 a.m. The group will proceed to North Street, and head north to Wahconah Street and then to Pittsfield Cemetery.
A ceremony will follow at 9:45 a.m. at the cemetery, with guest speaker John Harding, Marine Corps League, and master of ceremonies, Fran Tremblay; officer of the day is Arnie Perras.
At 11 a.m. there will be a memorial mass at St. Joseph Cemetery (please note, there will be no march to St. Joseph).
Please note that in case of inclement weather, the exercises will be held at Morningside Community School, 100 Burbank St. Stay tuned to local radio stations and Pittsfield Community Television (PCTV) for information pertaining to weather-related updates.
Decorating of the graves commenced on May 6 at both cemeteries and will proceed each day until completed.
