City of Pittsfield Community Development department officials, in conjunction with consultants, will host an informational meeting and workshop on Thursday, April 4 related to an ongoing project regarding changes to the city’s zoning in the downtown area.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, located at 70 Allen St.
The event will provide an update from a previous workshop held on Jan. 7, presenting an outline of potential changes to the city’s downtown land use regulations.
This past fall, the city initiated the project to evaluate opportunities in the downtown area for streamlined permitting, work that will help to identify creative and evolving business models, and provide clear priorities with a scope and scale of future development.
These efforts have been led on behalf of the city by Harriman and Union studios, firms with extensive urban design and planning experience.
