The Berkshire Athenaeum is pleased to invite the public to the grand opening of the Berkshire Seed Library on Saturday, Feb. 17.
The event, which is free, will include the following activities throughout the day:
- Learn from Hancock Shaker Village’s master gardeners on how to start a garden
- Take home local, organic seeds
- Build your own Chia Pet
- Design an ideal garden with the library’s Children’s Department
The Berkshire Seed Library, a partnership among the Berkshire Athenaeum, Alchemy Initiative, and Hancock Shaker Village, aims to provide healthy, viable seeds for the community to plant, grow, and harvest as well as workshops on gardening and seed saving.
