Q:  When does the City Council meet?

A:  Meetings of the City Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays at 7:30 pm in City Hall Council Chambers, 70 Allen Street.  In July, August and December, the City Council only meets once on the second Tuesday.

Q:  What is my ward and precinct?

A:  The ward and precinct determines where residents vote and in which elective district citizens reside.  When you register to vote, the acknowledgment notice you receive includes your ward, precinct and polling location.  The staff can also provide information about elective districts, your current elected officials and names of candidates in election seasons.  You may look up your ward and precinct here by entering your full address.


Q:  Where do I vote?

A:  You may look up your voting location here by entering your full address.  You can also obtain the contact information for your elected officials.  If you are not sure of your polling place please call the voter’s office at (413) 499-9460 or email the Assistant Clerk for Registration and Elections at mcetti@pittsfieldch.com.  We would be happy to tell you exactly where to go to perform your civic duty.


Q:  What hours are the polls open?

A:  For all municipal elections the polls are open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and for federal and state elections the polls are open from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM.


Q: When do candidates need to submit campaign finance reports to the City Clerk?

A:  Candidates who, successfully and unsuccessfully, ran for Mayor, City Council, City Clerk, School Committee and any Political Action Committees must submit Campaign Finance Reports eight days prior to the Preliminary Election, eight days prior to the Municipal Election and an end-of-year report.
