Department of Public Services

The Department of Public Services is responsible for the maintenance and repair of public infrastructure in the City and provides essential services to the 42,000+ citizens of the City of Pittsfield.  The Department, comprised of four divisions, operates on a 24 hour basis with pagers and emergency based night staffing.  The City employs a staff of 32 full-time employees in the Department of Public Services.

  • Municipal Parks and Playgrounds

Inspections

  • Street Utility Trench safety and repair
  • Streetlights and Traffic Signals
  • Public Shade Trees
  • Sealer of Weights & Measures

Garage

  • City Vehicles and Equipment (excluding Fire and Police)
